USA Wins the Pandemic Olympics
USA USA USA USA USA Italy China USA 80,000+ cases
A six-panel comic depicts a USA athlete receiving a gold medal, celebrating, kissing a woman, and spraying champagne, while Italy and China stand on the podium and the USA is labeled with “80,000+ cases.” The joke sarcastically treats the United States’ high COVID-19 case count as an Olympic victory. It is used as a reaction to news about the USA leading in infections or mishandling a crisis.
