Putin Loves Democracy
TELEGRAPH.CO.UK Russian parliament vote to let Putin rule for life I love democracy
A Russian official stands at a parliamentary podium above a photo of Vladimir Putin with the caption “I love democracy.” The joke is sarcastic: a vote allowing Putin to rule for life is presented as evidence of democracy, mocking authoritarian politics and lifelong leadership. It is used as a reaction to hypocritical or sham democratic decisions.
