Steam Woke Detector Recommends Disco Elysium

Steam's Woke Detector does not recommend Disco Elysium. My personal highlight, however, is: "Heavy social commentary regarding communism. Whether pro or anti is unclear." Features multiple LGBTQ+ characters, including the player character. Heavy social commentary regarding communism. Whether pro or anti is unclear."

A parody Steam screenshot shows a so-called Woke Content Detector refusing to recommend Disco Elysium because it contains LGBTQ+ themes and communist social commentary. The joke is that the detector cannot determine whether the game is pro- or anti-communist, highlighting the absurdity of reducing nuanced political writing to a simplistic ideological warning. It is shared as a sarcastic reaction to culture-war discourse and overly literal content-labeling systems.
