A thin modern flat-screen TV and a bulky old CRT television are shown being put down carefully. The joke is that the fragile-looking modern TV inspires fear of breaking the television itself, while the heavy CRT inspires fear of damaging the table and crushing your fingers. It is used as a nostalgic reaction to the weight and awkwardness of old electronics.
