National Hero vs Military Hero

Text on the meme

I kicked a ball into a net the size of a two car garage. I’m a national hero! Text REMEMBER OUR MILITARY AND OUR VETERANS.

What it means

A female soccer player in a U.S. uniform celebrates after scoring, while a heavily equipped soldier stands below beside a speech bubble containing the generic word “Text.” The joke contrasts exaggerated praise for an athlete with the greater sacrifices of military members and veterans, making it a reaction to overblown sports hero worship.
