Three Kinds of Scientific Research
THE THREE KINDS OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH: WE APPLIED A STANDARD THEORY TO NOVEL CIRCUMSTANCES AND GOT SOME SURPRISING RESULTS. WE APPLIED A NOVEL THEORY TO STANDARD CIRCUMSTANCES AND GOT SOME INTRIGUING RESULTS. FINALLY, A MAP OF EVERY TREE:
A three-panel comic presents three supposed kinds of scientific research. The first two show researchers applying theories to circumstances, while the final researcher proudly presents a chaotic map of every tree. The punchline mocks overly ambitious or nonsensical scientific projects and is used as an absurd reaction to bad research methodology.
