Simba’s Expressions Sheets 1994 vs 2019

Simba’s Expressions Sheets 1994 2019

A comparison of Simba expression sheets from 1994 and 2019 shows detailed hand-drawn animation model sketches contrasted with simplified minimalist faces. The joke is that the character’s expressive design became dramatically less detailed over time, making the 2019 version look hilariously crude. It is used as a reaction to declining quality, simplified remakes, or nostalgia for older animation.
