Before and After Evangelion
BEFORE EVANGELION AFTER EVANGELION
A cheerful blonde girl in a bright room is shown on the left, while a more mature-looking blonde woman in a black dress sits moodily by a window on the right. The joke is that watching Neon Genesis Evangelion transforms someone from happy and innocent into dark, emotionally exhausted, and gothic-looking. It is used as a reaction to describe the supposedly psychologically damaging effect of the anime.
