Legend of the Mothman On a chilly, still night in November 1966, three young couples drove into the TNT area near Point Pleasant, West Virginia when they realized that they were being stalked. What they saw that night was a creature with huge red mysterious eyes. At first, the Mothman legend grew into a strange phenomenon known all over the world. What did these people see? What really happened?
A cat sits on the base of a giant Mothman statue in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The plaque recounts the legend of Mothman, a mysterious winged creature with red eyes. The humor comes from the ordinary cat being posed in front of the ominous monster statue, as if it were the real Mothman or its companion.
