SpongeBob Credits Make Him Cry

nickelodeon eBOB PANTS created by Stephen Hillenburg

A split-screen meme shows SpongeBob SquarePants hugging himself beside a crying man, followed by the SpongeBob title-card credit “created by Stephen Hillenburg” next to an even more emotional reaction. The joke is that remembering the creator of SpongeBob makes the viewer cry, especially after Hillenburg’s death; it is sent as a nostalgic reaction to childhood memories or sadness about the show.
