Everyone Is Already Down

November 5 2024 Run

A dark interface displays a 3×3 grid of photos showing people lying motionless on streets, sidewalks, and other outdoor surfaces. The joke is the exaggerated visual result of pressing “Run,” as if everyone has collapsed at once; the slow, eerie ambient music by Aphex Twin makes the scene feel absurdly dramatic and hypnotic, turning a simple button into a bizarre mass-fainting reaction. The track is “Gwely Mernans” by Aphex Twin, an ambient/electronic piece with a singing-bowl-like atmosphere.
