Perry the Platypus Subplot

Phineas: “I know what we’re doing today!” Perry the platypus subplot:

The clip opens with the caption “Phineas: ‘I know what we’re doing today!’” followed by “Perry the platypus subplot:”, then rapidly cuts through grim, violent-looking scenes of a scarred military operative and other soldiers from Metal Gear Solid V. The joke contrasts Phineas and Ferb’s cheerful adventure framing with Perry’s supposedly secret subplot being an intensely dark military operation. Duran Duran’s synth-pop/new wave song “Invisible” gives the montage a dramatic, stylish, and ominous mood that heightens the absurd contrast, making it work as a reaction to a situation that secretly escalated far beyond expectations.
