Trying to Hold the Deadline
ME, TRYING TO HOLD THE DEADLINE
A person rushes along a grand underground train platform beside a stationary metro train, then stumbles and falls hard. The joke exaggerates the struggle to meet an approaching deadline, as if the deadline were something physically impossible to hold onto. It is used as a reaction to frantic work, procrastination, or last-minute failure.
