Tumblr Politics Is Never Normal

feeling like an insane leftist compared to people irl and like a right wing crackpot compared to everyone on here I go to a family gathering and I hear my uncles discussing how having a cat "makes you a faggot", I open this app and read shit like "superheroes are an inherently fascist idea made to reinforce toxic masculine values" My grandma: Kids dying from COVID doesn’t matter because they were probably just weak and sickly to begin with. People on tumblr: Voting upholds a fascist system so we should all just sit around and daydream about being communist revolutionaries instead. Can’t anyone just be normal. #politics

A collage of Tumblr posts jokes about feeling radically left-wing in real life but right-wing compared with Tumblr users. The posts contrast reactionary family opinions with extreme online political takes, ending with the exasperated punchline that nobody can just be normal.
