The Fire of Styrta
2137 B.C. THE FIRE OF STYRTA
A dramatic historical-style painting shows a city engulfed in flames at night, with smoke filling the sky, a crescent moon overhead, and a small boat in the foreground. The caption presents the fictional disaster as an ancient historical event, making it useful as an absurd reaction to chaos or an exaggerated catastrophe.
