Localization Is Ultimately Interpretation
Every Japanese media that we know and love is subject to the absurd acts of localization, and there is therefore no intrinsic value in official translations. Hypocrite that you are, for you trust machines and amateurs to tell you the localization is wrong. All translation is ultimately based on interpretations only a fluent speaker can prove. 読むか?それとも犬のように魂じるか?
A Donald Duck comic panel shows him arguing about the value of official translations and localization. The joke is that the speaker criticizes localization while relying on supposedly subjective interpretations to judge it, ending with an absurd Japanese line. It is sent as a reaction to hypocrisy, translation debates, and overly confident language criticism.
