Buttons that looked like they were interactive An unobstructed space to grab and move the window Scrollbars showed you how much content you had in a window! A screenshot of an old iTunes window is covered with yellow arrows and sarcastic annotations pointing out interface elements that appear interactive, such as buttons, dividers, scrollbars, and empty space. The joke is that early software interfaces relied on inconsistent or invisible affordances, so users had to guess what could be clicked or dragged. It is shared as a reaction to confusing UI design and bad usability.
