Pikotaro's Smile and Optimism Gone

His smile and optimism: gone PIKOTARO - PPAP (Pen Pineapple Apple Pen) (Long Version) [Official Video] Everyone must die/PIKOTARO (ピコ太郎)

A side-by-side comparison shows Pikotaro cheerfully performing “PPAP” on the left and appearing as a dark, ghostly figure with a halo on the right. The joke is that his smile and optimism are gone, turning the upbeat viral song into an ominous existential scene; it is used as a reaction to sudden despair or loss of enthusiasm.
