hello! I’m calling libmpv’s my_get_property from a haskell app. It generally works, but in about 20% of calls I get some random garbage data. for example, for track-list it's always get a correct node_array of node_maps, but some of the mpv_format entries contain incorrect data, as if the memory was freed already, also within primitive properties like track-list/count. I allocate a void pointer in my code and pass it to the ffi function call, then parse the structure and finally free the pointer. can this be related to call? do I have to take extra measures to protect the memory for the property? I always get a correct structure, and for example the map keys are always fine, but the mpv_format is randomly broken (in the map values) maybe you should use a real language, because it works on C right so fuck yourself asshole o_o Later that day on twitter..... https://archive.is/60hsG just got verbally assaulted for using Haskell verbally assaulted
What it means

A programming chat screenshot shows someone asking for help with a Haskell and libmpv memory bug. Another user dismisses Haskell by saying they should use a real language because it works in C, prompting an aggressive insult; the image then cuts to a Twitter post saying the person was “verbally assaulted” for using Haskell, accompanied by Pepe and a crying Wojak. It is sent as a reaction to exaggerated online hostility toward programmers or programming-language preferences.
