SQL Code for Summoning a Day Off

SELECT @emp_name = emp_name @emp_badge = emp_badge_id , @emp_department = emp_department @job_description = job_description FROM @employee e JOIN emp_desc j ON j.job_code = e.job_code WHERE emp_id = @emp_id SET @msg_body = '<html><!--action=sched_day_off;emp_id=' + CAST(@emp_id AS VARCHAR) + ';start_date=' + CONVERT(VARCHAR, @start_dttm, 101) + ';end_date=' + CONVERT(VARCHAR, @end_dttm, 101) + '--><body><table width="304" border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr><th width="138" scope="row">' + '<div align="left">Name</div></th><td width="160">' + @emp_name + '</td></tr>' + '<tr><th scope="row"><div align="left">Department</div></th><td>' + @emp_department + '</td></tr>' + '<tr><th scope="row"><div align="left">Position</div></th><td>' + @job_description + '</td></tr>' + '<tr><th scope="row"><div align="left">Start Time</div></th><td>' + CONVERT(VARCHAR, @start_dttm, 101) + '</td></tr>' + '<tr><th scope="row"><div align="left">End Time</div></th><td>' + CONVERT(VARCHAR, @end_dttm, 101) + '</td></tr>' + '<tr><th scope="row"><div align="left">Absence Reason</div></th>' + @absence_code + '</td></tr>' + '<tr><th scope="row">Notes</div></th><td>' LEFT(@comments, 200) + '</td></tr>' + '</table></body></html>'

A programmer writes elaborate SQL and performs a dramatic occult-looking ritual beside glowing candles. The joke is that requesting or generating a day off feels like summoning forbidden magic, turning routine workplace code into a supernatural ceremony.
