Evolution Makes Absurd Ammonite Shells

Evolution can you give me longer shell To improve swimming? Yeeeess. Actually develops absurd shapes like a boss HETEROMORPH AMMONITE TIME Pravitoceras Scalarites Eubostrychoceras Anisoceras Diplomoceras Nostoceras Nipponites Heteroceras Aulococeras Solenocearas Morowites

A four-panel joke shows an ammonite asking evolution for a longer shell to swim better, then developing bizarre, impractical spiral and tangled shapes instead. The bottom collage presents many real heteromorph ammonite forms, making the punchline an exaggerated celebration of evolution’s absurd solutions. It is used as a reaction to unexpectedly weird or overcomplicated results.
