Regex Is a Little Scary

GHOST Not terrible ZOMBIE Not terrible NUCLEAR WAR a little scary ((( [a-zA-Z-\z][0-9]+\.)[a-zA-z]{2,}))$

A four-panel comic shows a lab-coated character presenting increasingly frightening images: a ghost, a zombie, nuclear war, and finally a complicated regular expression. The joke is that the character is relatively unfazed by supernatural and catastrophic threats but becomes genuinely terrified by confusing regex syntax, a relatable programmer reaction.
