Python Static Typing at Home

Me: python, can we get static typing? Python: no, we have static typing at home Static typing at home: def greeting(name: str) -> str: return 'Hello ' + name

A text meme shows someone asking Python for static typing, followed by a deliberately inadequate example labeled “static typing at home.” The joke is that the code uses type annotations, but the language remains dynamically typed, parodying the “we have [thing] at home” format.
