Junior Animator Versus Senior Animator
SKYBOUND. JUNIOR ANIMATOR $80/HOUR MAPPA SENIOR ANIMATOR $3/HOUR
A video alternates between polished, energetic animation credited to a Skybound junior animator earning $80 per hour and rougher, intensely animated scenes credited to a MAPPA senior animator earning only $3 per hour. A headset-wearing reactor appears below, laughing and reacting with escalating shock as the contrast becomes absurd. The joke mocks the mismatch between animation quality, workload and pay, while Maroon 5’s “Payphone” plays underneath, adding melodramatic irony to the exaggerated salary comparison.
