She Still Ate It

The fact she still ate it gives me hope

A woman holds and eats a small pastry or stuffed bite, then the clip cuts to a young man chewing and looking emotional, with tears in his eyes. The joke is that her willingness to eat something seemingly unappetizing gives him irrational hope; the sentimental reaction is exaggerated for comic effect. Upbeat or playful music and audible panting heighten the absurd contrast between the trivial food moment and his deeply emotional response.
