Famous African-American Baseball Player

Text on the meme

you're the famous african-american base ball player I know

What it means

Vladimir Putin appears to recognize Pope Francis in an ornate room, but the caption absurdly identifies him as a famous African-American baseball player. The Pope’s deadpan “I know” makes the exchange intentionally nonsensical, so the meme is used as a reaction to confidently incorrect recognition or surreal misunderstanding.
