Why Are You Doing This Cat
WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?
A white cat with dark markings clings to a person’s arm and stares into the camera with an increasingly confused, warped, and suspicious expression as the close-up shifts through different backgrounds. The caption asks “WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?”, turning the cat’s bewildered stare into a reaction for responding to strange, inexplicable, or frustrating behavior. The clip is set to Wisp’s dreamy, melancholic shoegaze track “Your face,” whose hazy music makes the cat’s dramatic confusion feel oddly emotional and cinematic.
