Cats Losing It to The Smiths

Text on the meme

goober

What it means

A fast montage of cats shows an anxious tabby, a floppy orange cat labeled “goober,” a wide-eyed black cat opening its mouth, a startled cat on a bed, and a blurry gray cat looming into the camera. The absurd escalation of increasingly strange feline expressions becomes a reaction to overwhelming feelings, made funnier by the wistful indie rock of The Smiths’ “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out,” whose dramatic mood contrasts with the silly cat footage.
