Sleepless Cat Watching Cat Videos

Text on the meme

I ruined an entire generation

What it means

A tired stick-figure person lies awake in bed at 2:39 while a looping montage of increasingly absurd dressed-up cats plays overhead, including anime, cowboy, pirate, and other cat edits. The joke is that innocent cat content has consumed an entire generation and made it impossible to sleep; Metric’s dreamy indie-rock song “Lost Kitten” gives the escalating slideshow a wistful, hypnotic mood that makes the absurdity feel oddly emotional.
