Economics Over Gay Politics

"I like politics" mfs when the political talk is about economics instead of gay people >be me econ major >meet girl who says she's "really into politics" >mention monetary policy >she looks at me like I just confessed to arson >"wait... like money stuff?" >realize her idea of politics is TikToks about oppression >turn 540 degrees and walk away

The meme shows Patrick Star sitting on a couch beneath a caption mocking people who claim to like politics but only want to discuss culture-war topics involving gay people. The lower greentext tells how an economics major mentions monetary policy to a girl who says she is into politics, only to discover that she means TikTok content about oppression; he awkwardly walks away. It is used as a sarcastic reaction to shallow or overly culture-war-focused political discussion.
