Werner Herzog as Hegel
There is still time for Werner Herzog to play Hegel in a narrowly acclaimed biopic.
The meme pairs a portrait of the philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel with a photograph of filmmaker Werner Herzog. The joke is that Herzog’s solemn, distinctive presence makes him seem perfectly suited to portray Hegel in an absurdly “narrowly acclaimed” biopic, so it works as a reaction to an oddly specific casting idea.
