The 142MB Black Cross

Test Texture A test texture featuring a simple, black cross on a white background. Seems fairly innocuous, right? Well, this simple texture is actually an uncompressed image, requiring 142MB of disk space. The copy of it you're seeing now was easily compressed to less than 1% of the size.

A simple black cross appears on a white background with text explaining that the original uncompressed image requires 142MB, while the displayed copy compresses to less than 1%. The joke is the absurd contrast between the visually minimal image and its enormous supposed file size, making it a reaction to bloated or inefficient data.
