Who Would Build the Roads?
So many of my problems would be solved if the government didn't take 30% of my income and devaluate the other 70% Then who would build the roads? I AM VERY INTELLIGENT.
A poor traveler carrying a bundle of sticks complains that government taxes and currency devaluation cause his problems. A grinning man in a well suggests that without government, nobody would build the roads, and proudly declares himself “very intelligent.” The joke mocks simplistic anti-government arguments and smug but shallow political reasoning.
