Explaining 4chan to the Cashier
>walk into theatre lobby >about to buy Kino tickets >ask cashier if the movie is reddit or not or not >she doesnt understand >explain to her the difference between 4chan and reddit culture >she still doesnt get it >pull out printed memes out of my wallet to show her the difference >she laughs and says it's fine >watch movie >its reddit
A Pepe the Frog greentext describes someone trying to determine whether a movie is culturally “Reddit” or “4chan,” even attempting to explain the distinction to a confused cashier with printed memes. The punchline is the absurd seriousness of internet subculture distinctions and the final judgment that the movie is “reddit.”
