Industrial Progress Leads to Social Hell

1) praise the industrial revolution, welcome all of its consequences 2) the world-economy progresses towards globalization, growth accelerates rapidly 3) the modern society overwhelms every aspect of our surroundings, light blinds us instead of illuminating our path 4) you no longer witness the enormity of the universe, the only beacon of hope for a different world, for new possibilities is shrouded by the fog of industrialism, it no longer allows you to dream of anything else but its own social hell.

A four-panel meme presents industrialization and globalization as apparently positive developments before revealing their overwhelming and spiritually bleak consequences. Trollface celebrates industrial progress, while the final panel shows a defeated rage-comic face beneath a cosmic sky, implying that modern society has destroyed wonder, hope, and the ability to imagine a better world. It is used sarcastically to mock blind techno-optimism and the dark side of progress.
