When you get assigned to re-write old programs and there are comments on every line
Aang faces a long line of past Avatars from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The joke compares inheriting heavily commented legacy code to being confronted by generations of accumulated programming history. It is used as a reaction to overwhelming or difficult-to-maintain old code.
