AI Rewrites Writers’ Own Words
A client informed me that he will no longer pay me to write content for his website because A.I. can write it for free, but he wants to pay me a fraction of my usual rate to "rewrite it" in different words so it can pass Google's A.I. detection screening. This is the same A.I. that the assholes in charge trained on my writing, since it spits back lightly rewritten versions of my own words.
Jason Colavito shares a screenshot of a Twitter exchange about a client replacing paid writing with AI-generated content, then offering a lower rate to have the AI text rewritten to evade Google’s AI detection. The punchline is the hypocrisy: the AI was trained on writers’ work and produces lightly rewritten versions of their own words, while the client expects the writer to help disguise it.
