iPhone Chargers Get Worse

What it means

A white-background video rapidly presents increasingly strange “iPhone” charging cables: a Lightning cable for the iPhone 14, USB-C for the iPhone 15, an old USB-to-barrel cable for the iPhone 17, a bulky wall charger for the iPhone 18, a bundle of assorted connectors for the iPhone 19, Ethernet cables for the iPhone 20, and finally a red gasoline can with a hose for the iPhone 22. The joke is the absurd escalation of Apple’s imagined connector changes, while Hans Zimmer’s grand, cinematic “Cornfield Chase” makes the ridiculous progression feel dramatically important; a mosquito-like insect buzz may also be heard in the audio.
