Sobriety Takes Away the Fun

Text on the meme

people who waste their time on earth and don't drink WATER DRINKERS BE LIKE MMMM SEWAGE TASTES GOOD TODAY End of Sketch THIS IS THE KIND OF FUN THAT BIG SOBRIETY WANTS TO TAKE AWAY FROM US. List of countries with alcohol prohibition the world if drunk driving was legal (everyone would be calm and confident) 75% > 25%

What it means

A rapid-fire compilation mocks sobriety and alcohol restrictions through absurd clips: a man complains about people who do not drink, water drinkers supposedly enjoy sewage, people stumble and fall, a map shows countries with alcohol prohibition, and chaotic cars illustrate the sarcastic claim that drunk driving would make everyone calm and confident. The joke is intentionally pro-alcohol satire, set to Gotye’s melancholic indie-pop song “Somebody That I Used to Know,” whose dramatic mood makes the reckless montage feel mock-serious and overblown.
