Taking Responsibility for Trevor
I THINK YOU HAD A PRODUCT I SAID GUYS MISTAKE HIRING THAT AND I'M SORRY MY MISTAKE FOR YOU'RE RIGHT
A bearded man speaks into a podcast microphone in a black-and-white video, explaining how a leader should accept responsibility for failure. The joke is that his apparent apology immediately turns into blaming and firing Trevor, mocking performative accountability.
I think you can measure someone's leadership abilities by how they shoulder the burden of responsibility in failure. Of course, accountability is key. Right. I remember a time where we had a product launch and it was a total disaster and I got the whole team together and I sat them down and I said, guys, this one's on me. This was my mistake hiring that moron, Trevor. Trevor has screwed us all And he's now fired, he's gone. And I'm sorry for even giving him a chance, guys. I apologise. This one was my mistake for giving Trevor a chance. That takes guts that a lot of leaders just don't have. You're right.
