Can’t Work From Home Anymore
POV you can’t work from home anymore Jason, if you could just stay on the call, Wha Why can I no longer work from home? What do you mean they forgot I worked here? I'm at every meeting. Okay, well, I'm on Slack speaking with a lot of people, and much of the communication about the events that take place I'll see you at the office tomorrow Jason. Jeremy
A remote employee sits at home during a video call and argues that he is productive because he attends meetings and communicates on Slack. His manager says the company has practically forgotten he works there and orders him back to the office. The joke is about an invisible, unproductive remote worker who mistakes being present in chats and meetings for doing meaningful work.
Jason, if you could just stay on the call. I wanted to tell you that starting tomorrow, we're going to have to have you coming into the office. You can't work from home anymore. What? What? Why can't I work from home? Home. Oh no, why can't I no longer work from home? Your productivity levels have dropped so much so that people in the company seem to have forgotten you work here. Well, what do you mean they forgot I worked here? I took a lot when I worked. Right, and in your words, what do you do exactly? I'm at every meeting. I legitimately forgot what your voice sounded like because I hadn't heard it in weeks. You've never speak. Okay, well I'm on Slack speaking with a lot of people and I facilitate a much of the communication about the events that take place here and I'm passionate. I'm passionate. I'll see you at the office tomorrow Jason.
