Giving My AI Agent a Body
so I can have meetings with it. CEOs keep saying that working in person And I also named it Alex, However, for some reason, it was walking on air I'm working on it now. So being the fun boss that I am,
A creator builds an embodied AI office worker named Alex and meets with it in augmented reality at home. The agent initially floats through the room, then controls a computer and completes a spreadsheet task. The joke is that a solo worker creates a bizarre virtual employee to recreate office management and even prank it with a different body.
Alex, if you even look at the numbers, this budget makes no sense. Please redo it. I can take another pass, but I don't have the bandwidth to do this and everything else today. What should I deprioritize? This is a story of how I brought my AI agent to life so I can have meetings with it. One afternoon, I was using chat GPT work to put together a budget for one of my video projects. The budget was done immediately, but that's when I realized AI had taken away one of the most important parts of work, waiting on other people. CEOs keep saying that working in person is better for productivity. The problem is, I don't have any employees, I only have AI agents. So I decided to give them bodies. I first chose a character that best represents an office worker. I ended up choosing this one because it was free, and I also named it Alex because it was the default name chat GPT gave me. I used codecs to build an immersive app, then I put on the headset, and there, standing right in front of me, was Alex. Hello. Hi there, friend. However, for some reason it was walking on air and started walking towards my ceiling. I debugged it a bit more and I got it to stay on the ground, thankfully. I also gave him full access to a computer like a real employee. I then gave it a toy project. Hey, can you open a Google Sheet and draw a Christmas tree? I'm working on it now. I'm opening a sheet and building a neat centered Christmas tree by coloring the cells. He passed with flying colors. And by the way, this is the real computer he controls using Codex Computer Use. Now I can finally achieve my dream of managing an employee in person. So being the fun boss that I am, I decided to pull a small prank and gave him a different body. We both had a laugh with it. I really do miss going to the office. But this, this is even better than the office.
