John the Hated Avatar

Is there a way to delete your avatar? - I hate him John

A Duolingo discussion screenshot shows a cartoon avatar named John with large glasses and brown hair against a pink background. The joke is that the user dislikes their own avatar so intensely that they want to delete it, making the harmless character seem oddly irritating. It is used as a reaction to express irrational annoyance with a profile picture or familiar character.
