The Internet Lost Its Soul
We have already lost the battle for the soul of the internet and most of us didn’t even realise we were fighting it. What we wanted was humanity to be a shared, planet-wide connected community (with cat pictures) but instead we got a global hate-powered propagandopamine-dispensing surveillance network (with cat pictures). Sinister Global Panoptication Fortunately we can comfort ourselves with the knowledge that the genuinely awful people responsible for ruining everything are now wealthy beyond our comprehension.
A hand-drawn comic shows a cluster of cats surrounding a yellow central figure, presented as a sinister global surveillance system. The joke contrasts the hopeful dream of the internet as a connected community with its transformation into a hate-driven propaganda and surveillance network, while wealthy tech or media elites profit beyond imagination. It is shared as a cynical reaction to the internet, social media, billionaire power, and online culture.
