A Business Insider patent illustration shows a seated person holding a game controller beside a fluffy robot companion on a couch. The joke comes from the uncanny idea of Sony patenting an artificial friend to play games and watch movies with you, making it a reaction to loneliness, awkward companionship, or futuristic technology.
