Performative Gaming in 2026
2026 we getting performative gaming “You played the HD remaster instead of on a CRT like the devs intended?”
A collage shows people gaming on modern and retro devices, including a CRT television, arcade cabinet, handheld consoles, and a concert-like scene. The joke mocks performative retro-gaming culture: someone is criticized for playing an HD remaster instead of using the original CRT setup supposedly intended by the developers. It is sent as a sarcastic reaction to overly strict nostalgia and gaming elitism.
