Discord Is More Than Messaging
stop using discord as a wiki stop using discord as a forum stop using discord as a file host stop using discord as a storefront discord is an instant messenger it is a centrally hosted cloud service it will eventually shut down it has no archival functionality moving away from IRC was a mistake anti-discord action
A dark-themed social media post lists all the ways people misuse Discord beyond instant messaging, then argues that Discord is centralized, temporary, and poor for archiving. The punchline is the nostalgic claim that abandoning IRC was a mistake, making this a reaction meme for criticizing Discord dependence and advocating decentralized or archival platforms.
