Allergic to Small Talk
I wish there was a ribbon you could wear to alert store greeters that you don’t want to be “greeted.” It’s so fucking brutal this time of year. Six different people just wished me a Merry Xmas at BCBG. I’m a Jew and, more importantly, allergic to small talk. How about one of these bad boys?
A Twitter screenshot shows Corinne Kaplan joking that she wishes she could wear a ribbon warning store greeters not to talk to her. She complains about being wished Merry Christmas despite being Jewish and says she is allergic to small talk; the reply humorously suggests a conspicuous ribbon or badge as the solution. It is sent as a sarcastic reaction to unwanted holiday greetings, retail interactions, or social awkwardness.
