Mute Button Logs Every Keystroke
Some HP sound driver implemented the Mute button support by querying for all the keystrokes and checking if the key pressed was Mute. But they had some issues with reliability so they added a log, saving all the keystrokes to it. They put this log in the shared "Public" folder.
A tweet describes an HP sound driver that records every keystroke while trying to detect the Mute key, then stores the log in a shared Public folder. The joke is that a mundane driver bug becomes an absurd and alarming keylogger, making this useful as a reaction to careless surveillance or security failures.
