Alexander the Great Hockey Fall
Alexander the Great and the Fates, by Bernardino Mei, 1667, 🖼️ by Sarah Stier
A hockey player falls dramatically onto the ice while teammates and opponents look on, paired with Bernardino Mei’s painting Alexander the Great and the Fates. The joke compares the chaotic hockey collision to the theatrical movement and drama of a Baroque historical painting, making the image useful as an absurd reaction to an overdramatic fall or situation.
